Boogs’ passion for wrestling began in high school, where he won a state title at Franklin High School. Rick Rude Family Ethnicity And Career

“Ravishing” Rick Rude, whose real name was Richard Erwin Rood, was born on December 7, 1958, in St. Peter, Minnesota, to Richard Clyne Rood and Sally Jean Thompson. He was a Caucasian American and attended Robbinsdale High School in Robbinsdale, where he made lasting friendships with future pro wrestlers such as Curt Hennig, Nikita Koloff, and John Nord, to name a few.

In 1976, Rude married his first wife, Cheryl Hollwe, but the couple divorced in 1982. He later married Michelle in 1988, and they had three children together, Richard Jr., Merissa, and Colton. Sadly, Rick passed away due to heart failure on April 20, 1999, at the young age of 40. His death was later attributed to a medication overdose, as he was taking a narcolepsy prevention drug to aid in his return to the ring.

During his career, which spanned about a decade, Rick was a four-time world champion and known as the founding member of the popular wrestling staple Degeneration-X. Despite his untimely passing, he left a lasting legacy in the wrestling industry, and his contributions were recognized when he was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in March 2017.
