Rachael Leigh Cook Shares Details About Her ‘Special’ Relationship with Freddie Prinze Jr. 25 Years After ‘She’s All That
Rachael Leigh Cook, who starred alongside Freddie Prinze Jr. in the 1999 romantic comedy “She’s All That,” revealed that she still cherishes her “special” relationship with the actor even after almost 25 years since the movie’s debut. Despite their different paths in life, Cook disclosed that Prinze Jr. hasn’t really changed that much.
While describing her friend, Cook joked that “Freddie is exactly the same human. He’s just maybe, slightly more fired up about wrestling.” She further added that although he’s older and wiser, he’s not more mature, and there’s still something boyish about him.
Cook, in an interview with Us Weekly, said that Prinze Jr. occasionally sends her random photos of his car, his dog, or his kids, accompanied by a simple “What up? How you doing?” message. “It’s just so the same Freddie. And I mean that in the very best way. He’s a very special human being,” Cook explained.
Prinze Jr., 47, and his wife, actress Sarah Michelle Gellar, have two children, Charlotte and Rocky. Cook, on the other hand, has Charlotte and Theodore with her ex-husband Daniel Gillies.
In 2021, Cook starred in the reboot of their classic teen-film titled “He’s All That.” Although the Netflix film followed a similar storyline, Cook did not reprise her original role as Laney Boggs and instead played an entirely new character.
Last November, the two co-stars reunited publicly during a screening for Prinze Jr.’s new Netflix film “Christmas With You,” and Cook shared a photo of the duo on her Instagram, writing, “What a great night, so happy for you my friend!”
Even after a quarter-century, the friendship between Cook and Prinze Jr. remains as strong as ever, proving that some bonds never break.
