Machine Gun Kelly Takes Aim at Jack Harlow in Ferocious New Freestyle: The Battle for Second Greatest White Rapper Heats Up
The debate over who is the second greatest white rapper heated up when Jack Harlow proclaimed himself as the heir to the throne after Eminem, but Machine Gun Kelly has something to say about it. Machine Gun Kelly Takes
MGK, who has been more focused on rock and roll lately, returned to his rap roots and dropped a new freestyle where he takes a direct jab at Jack, and he may have a legitimate claim to the title.
Using Jay-Z’s “Renegade” beat, which also features Eminem, MGK’s flow and rhyme scheme are impressive. He makes references beyond the average mumble rap verse these days, but his direct shots at Jack steal the show.
First, he raps, “Make sure there’s no confusion // I’m a great white; I can eat their barracudas.” Then, he takes a hit at Jack’s whole swag by saying, “I see why they call you Jackman // You jack man’s whole swag // Give Drake his flow back, man.” There’s no room for ambiguity here.
Jack Harlow claimed to be the “hardest white boy” since the one who rapped about “vomit and sweaters,” causing an uproar on Twitter. Some people mentioned other white rappers who could be better than Jack, including Action Bronson, Lil Dicky, Mac Miller, and Machine Gun Kelly.
Ironically, MGK decided to diss Jack after collaborating with him on the “WHATS POPPIN” remix a few years ago. But, this time, it feels personal. MGK is responding to Jack’s claim and asserting his dominance in the white rapper category.
