Halsey and Alev Aydin Announce an Amicable Split and Plan to Co-Parent Their Son
Halsey and Alev Aydin have ended their relationship in a friendly manner. However, the singer, 28, and the screenwriter, who had a son, Ender Ridley Aydin, in July 2021, plan to co-parent.
According to PEOPLE, Halsey filed a petition to establish the parental relationship on April 5, seeking complete physical custody of their 21-month-old son and asking for “reasonable visitation” rights to be granted to her former partner.
Halsey also requested joint legal custody and for expenses and litigation fees to be shared between the two parties. The couple first made headlines in 2019 when they were seen together at a Los Angeles Lakers game.
While they kept their relationship private, Halsey shared an Instagram post on Valentine’s Day with a photo of Aydin, captioned “❤️ ya’aburnee ❤️.” Halsey also expressed her love for Aydin during an interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe in August 2021, stating that their relationship was “full of love and passion and communication.”
Halsey and Aydin were in the middle of writing a biopic about the singer when their relationship took a romantic turn. “bc alev was supposed to be writing in the past three years, and we slowly fell in love instead. You know the rest!” they replied to a fan’s tweet about the rumored film.
Halsey and Aydin posted sweet messages to celebrate their son’s first birthday on social media. Halsey wrote, “My little tiny baby is a big one-year-old today! Time flies, and I want to land the plane.
Permanently. Your baba and I love you so much. you are smart and fiercely determined and sweet and curious and funny.” Aydin posted a photo of the family of three, saying, “PETIT PRINCE IS ONE TODAY!! Mama and I love you, Ender. To the moon, kid, to the moon.”
Despite the split, it is clear that Halsey and Aydin still have love and respect for each other and are committed to raising their child together.
