Daniel Radcliffe and Erin Darke Welcome First Child Together

Daniel Radcliffe, famously known for his role in Harry Potter, has embraced a new kind of magic: fatherhood. The actor, 33, and his girlfriend, Erin Darke, 38, have become parents for the first time, according to a representative for the actor who confirmed the news to PEOPLE.

No further details about the baby have been released, but the Daily Mail shared pictures of the couple walking in New York City with Radcliffe pushing a stroller.

In a recent interview with Newsweek about their film, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Radcliffe discussed his desire for his children to be a part of the movie industry, as he thinks film sets can be wonderful places for kids.

“I want my kids, if and when they exist…I would love them to be around film sets,” he said. “A dream would be for them to come onto a film set and be like, ‘God, you know, I’d love to be in the art department. I’d love to be something in the crew.’ Some part of this, but not from that.”

However, he emphasized the importance of avoiding the fame aspect that comes with it.
Last March, Radcliffe expressed his happiness with his girlfriend, whom he has been with for a decade.

“I’ve got a nice life. We’re really happy,” he shared with PEOPLE. In another interview with PEOPLE in 2020, he talked about how the story of how he and Darke met on the set of Kill Your Darlings in 2012 will be a “hell of a story to tell our kids one day,” given their love scene in the movie.
