New details have emerged about the fatal car crash that claimed the lives of 34-year-old Nicola Courtney and her three-year-old son, Lucas Page, on the A180 near Immingham.
According to reports, the blue Ford Focus in which the victims were traveling had broken down in a live lane before the incident. A driver who swerved around the stranded vehicle reported the situation to the authorities at around 8.45 pm on Friday.
Sadly, at 9.06 pm, a white articulated vehicle hit the stationary car, resulting in the death of Nicola and Lucas.
Prior to the collision, a woman claimed that she had to swerve in the dark to avoid the broken-down vehicle and reported it to the emergency services. Witnesses stated that the Ford Focus was stranded in the left lane of the dual road before the collision with the HGV.
Humberside Police have requested that witnesses come forward with information as they investigate the tragic accident. The authorities have also reported themselves to the Independent Office Police Complaints (IOPC).

The fatal road traffic collision that occurred on March 10 at around 9.06 pm involved a white articulated lorry that struck a blue Ford Focus that was stopped, possibly in an active lane, on the A180 in Immingham between Stallingborough and Brocklesby.
